Are
painted pilots available? |
No. We do not offer painted pilots. Some vendors
purchase our products and paint them for resale, but we
do not endorse nor refer any specific vendor. Usually,
you can ask around your flying field an find several
volunteers to paint the figures. There are also several
individuals around the world who offer painting
services. We will try to maintain a list of people who
provide such services (follow the link below).
NOTE: The providers listed herein are not affiliated
with Aces of Iron.

Do you have any full-body
pilots?
|
No. So far, I (nor any other manufacturer for the RC
market) have not found a way to make a figure light
enough to fly, strong enough to last, cheap enough to
make a profit (scale rc business has very small customer
base). I am continuing to work to to produce a full-body
figure just as Einstein spent his life in pursuit
of the unified field theory.

Who
is Aces of Iron Productions? |
Aces
of Iron Productions is owned by me, Michael Johnson.
I used to fly (before all my free time was consumed with
this business) at the Sepulveda Basin. I have a
full-time job as an aerospace engineer. Spike was my first design, I made him to
fit my Balsa USA Eindecker .40. The interrest he
generated at the field prompted me to create other
designs. As I am an engineer by trade, my early
sculptures were pretty rough. The designs improve as my
sculpting ability progresses.
